Marijuana Discussed (briefly) at Democratic Debate 10-30-07

The topic of legalizing marijuana was mentioned fleetingly during the debate in Philadelphia. Unfortunately, Chris Dodd was severely constrained by the time limit of the "lightning round" to outline the growing argument against prohibition. John Edwards was randomly selected to give insight and gave the generic "sending the wrong message" response. Without giving serious credence to a real liberty infringement we quickly moved along to Brian Williams' long winded question about Chinese toys. We certainly don't want to allow people to make their own decisions because it would be "sending the wrong message."

im not cutting politicians any slack. honestly, i dont really even care what they have to say. i smoke pot and always will, regardless of the legality of it. when a nation has something like 12% confidence in it's senate, the game is over. i really don't care what their stance is. they change nothing. they do nothing. they lie about everything. i have 0 faith in that system. they can raise their hand, not raise it, whatever. doesn't make an ounce of difference in the real world. they dont matter
