From this point on, new rants will be posted on my new YouTurbia Blog:

YouTube Rant #6 is up... a prerecorded radio show from BlogTalkRadio:

http://pelord.sonicretro.org/youtuberant_6.html

I realize the last thing most people on YouTube want to do is read, but I decided to rant this way instead of making videos about them.

(Also, the music in the video is an old music loop I made a few years back, which means it's mine and not stolen. Thx.)

  • Hey, I read your current update...what a mess? This problem has just become a pandemic??? They (YouTube & Google) can never seem to come to an agreement or a rational decision on this partnership program.

  • Too few pages on YouTube are monetized, and instead of allowing more people to monetize their videos, they think more intrusive ads are the answer... no wonder those advertising analysts find so many problems with YouTube's advertising.

  • Very Nice pelord, I didn't realize any of this was happening till I saw your video. It's good to know these things. Im boycotting Viacom now.

  • I probably won't be boycotting them personally.

  • Any reason why?

  • It would be quite difficult to avoid completely coming in contact with something that Viacom has rights to... I don't really watch much TV, so they aren't getting my support from that anyway.

And the fact that I believe Viacom is right for not wanting their content on YouTube, though I can't say I agree with them obtaining the information they want. I'd say they should take a hint from the record labels (like UMG) and use Content Identification, but I think YouTube profits from that.

  • Thanks For CARING, I VERY Much appreciate the INSIGHT your videos Impart.PLEASE keep producing These Very HELPFUL Videos. Dean.

  • Im still confused as to why they are making such a huge deal over all of this. Most companies just throw a big ad on your video.

  • I hear that. Hey at least we can still leave comments on videos though? ;=]

If only YouTube would listen to people like you? They might get somewhere.
