  • Loved the '58 when I was a kid (in the 50s!) much more than the 55-57. Mostly because the '58 had coil springs at all four wheels, and quad headlights. I liked the buldging fenders instead of the straight slab sides, and the bullet taillights were the most! The addition of the optional 348 big block was a big plus.

  • The '58 Chevrolet was a radical departure from the '57 and must have looked quite modern when it debuted. Chevy had to scramble to catch up to the longer, lower, wider trend that was radically pushed ahead by the Virgil Exner "forward look" Chryslers that came out in the '57 model year, which left most of GM's 1957 offerings looking dated by comparison. They really were a preview of the '60s (hence Chrysler's 1957 sales slogan, "Suddenly, it's 1960!").

  • first year of the infamous "X" frame

  • Oh she's a beauty.

  • 1958 was the debut year for the legendary Chevrolet Impala.

  • What a feeling it must have been to drive one of these bad boys off the lot in 58!!!! I can't wait to finish my restore. I love and hate my car all the same. It's a weird relationship that I wouldn't trade for the world. Well, maybe the world.

  • great ...

  • I love classic Chevies.
