I see we agree. Absolutely. The soul, the joy the will to comunicate and the "living cultre in all that" is what fascinates me the most.
Saludos de una tanguera espanola en Berlin!
She dances too "standard". Like doing some kind of sports!

What do you mean too 'standard'? She dances beautifully. What's your idea of what tango should be danced like? Can you post any video replies for us to see?

Well sorry I did not want to bother you with my comment. I know this is a milonga for the stage and not a milonga de salón. And she is really good in her technic. But it is just my opinion, I like the dance when it is smoother (más suave). Europeans tend to admire acrobatics. But the treasure of tango /milonga is how they (non-Europeans) STILL put their "soul" in the dance and their OWN personal style. Nothing is more awful than European standard dances.

You are not bothering anyone, we are just having a talk about dance styles :-)
I agree that tastes in Europe are very different from tastes in Argentina and/or other south American countries.
But even in Argentina Stage Tango is based on 'acrobatics', open embrace and all those elements that give it the 'wow' factor.
I also agree that most experienced Argentine tangueros do put their soul, their own style into dancing. But here in Europe milonguero-style is not well known or practised.

In standard dance they all dance JUST the same, like plastic pupets. And she tends "a little bit" in this direction (just a little bit). But you are right, no doubt she is a very good dancer. Just not the style I prefer. I like him better, if you can get me now.
Un cordial saludo!

Yes, Stage Tango has indeed become standardised... If you just watch the World Championship (Campeonato Mundial de Tango), you'll see this is true, they all dance the same moves and same elements, Argentines and Europeans alike.
Of course when you go to Sunderland, Cochabamba, Canning or even La Viruta in Buenos Aires, it's a completely different world, a much better world where people dance to enjoy contact with each other!
Saludos desde Manchester, Inglaterra!
