A brief explanation of a little known rising, which took place in Glasgow. The song is Blaydon races By the Spinners, which I'm aware is a jordy folk song but I was looking for an opportunity to use it.

  • I got the song from the original celtic box set. But I can't say I've seen this version anywhere else.

  • This is a newcastle song, not a song for glasgow.

  • I am from India and living in Newcastle since a year....Trying to get the hang of Geordie and love this song....

I live Geordie folk...Thanks for posting...

  • This song always tickles me. My Mum was a Geordie and often used to sing this. Until someone told her to stop swearing... she lived in London and the person who heard her singing thought she was singing 'the ble*ding races'. Bless her hear. But I've always loved this song. Thank you for sharing.
