One of the most important points about Portuguese language and other languages, of course..is the study of the verb "to be" or "Ser" in Portuguese. In English there are one verb for to situations: permanent situations ..."I am Paul" and a period of time situation "I am here now". In Portuguese we use "ser" for just permanet situations: "Eu sou Paul". We cannot say : "Eu sou aqui now". I am here now. In a periodic situation we must to use other verb "estar": "Eu estou aqui now" (I will teach you it next class).
Study the Simple Present tense of To be in
Brazilian Portuguese form and its Pronouns.
Obs. (It is a Sao Paulo style with the use o 2nd pronoun form "voce/s". Therefore, other Brazilians and Portuguese people naturarly use the 2nd person "tu/vos".
To be: Ser
Eu sou I am ...
Voce e you are..
Ele/a e he /she is...
Nos soomos we are...

  • Hello,

I was thinking that instead of using the preposition "by" in the title of your videos, for example: "Portuguese by music", the best would be "Portuguese through music". In my opinion, the proposition "by" does not convey the message you want to say, which is "portuguese a través da música não é?"

Hope it is a constructive comment :-)

    Take care
