ACLU NC - On June 30, 2008 the California Commission on the Fair Administration of Justice released the first ever comprehensive report on CA's death penalty. The panel unanimously agrees that California's death penalty is broken and would cost millions to fix. It is up to the voters to decide how much we are willing to spend on the broken system, when we have an alternative that works.

  • The dealth penalty is ineffective and costly because of the attacks that idiotic groups like the ACLU have waged. They've made it where we're actually debating whether lethal injection causes pain to a murderer/rapist/child molester. I don't see the ACLU standing up for victim's rights, yet they defend the worst criminals on earth. It will be a victory for Americans when the ACLU ceases to exist, afterall the ACLU doesn't represent mainsteram America, they represent fringe elements.

  • in 1984 the was a declaration of human rights that was made by the united nations. and we are in violation of that. i believe that god will judge each and every man and woman for there crimes and believe me my family and i have been victims of a insane criminal.

  • Since when are liberals concerned about spending money? Or putting police on the streets??

  • no. try this... enforce the death penalty and immediately execute all prisoners on death row. Then execute the lifers. Then proclaim any inmate who assaults staff gets an automatic death sentence. Then for any inmate who assaults another inmate (3 strikes you're out) is executed on the 3rd. one. Then you'll see our prisoners start to shape up. They're not afraid because they know women like this fight for the criminal's rights over the rights of their victims.

  • If you are a violent criminal then you should have no rights.

  • Your public safety programs don't work. It's worth every cent to condemn those on death row. It's not an issue of money that would otherwise be wasted by a bloated state government.

  • It's so clear and simple -- right on ACLU. Permanent imprisonment.
