  • I agreed. This is NOT true Hmong writing system. It was created by missionary father Nhia Pao (French man lives with Hmong since 1930's). The goal at that time was to spread the word of Jesus/Virgin Mary. So it ended up being used as communication by non-christian. THis was not the first writing system developed by foriegn. There was an earlier version which used Russina characters in the China Mainland. If you go to China today will see some Miao church still using it.

  • however, this is a very good Hmong writing system in the Hmong community right now. Hmong all around the globe are using this writing system to communicate for each other.

  • Those that are unwilling to learn are still struggling with cultural identity issues similarly to those 30 years ago. Or just plan illiterate; lack of brain capacity or smarts. It saddens me to know that other ethnic groups can learn to appreciate our Hmong language when our kind is so ungrateful of their cultural heritage to know how to read and write. Until you learn to appreciate and be grateful of your identity, you’ll then learn to appreciate your culture, the language and your true roots.

  • Thanks for the upload. I used to think that it's useless to learn reading and writing Hmong even though I am Hmong, but as I am in school for a major that involves working with the Hmong community, I am advised that if I want to find a job when I graduate I need to be able to not only speak Hmong fluently, but read and write my native language fluently. I now realize I should have done that a long time ago, I could be interning right now. I will use these videos to my benefit. Thanks once again.

  • @Spankyjonez

Um no it doesn't. You obviously are not familiar with the languages.

  • Thank you lislijhuam for your time investment in educating others. Disregard the usual whining minority.

  • Thank you lislijhuam for doing this. I really appreciate it. I am learning hmong right now because i'm really bad at it. I am a registered nurse and it's hard when i don't know how to write or read in hmong or to learn and translate for my patient. I cannot thank you enough. I will write in hmong once i get used to it here on your channel.

    Thanks again.
