"Matemaatikon Lentonäytös" is from the album „Keesojen Lehto" released in 1977. Outside of Finland the album was also named "Skuggornas Tjuvstart" (in Sweden) „Mathematician's Air Display" (in UK) or (when it was re-released in 1981) „The Consequences of Indecisions" or simply left untiteled.
--------------------------------
Pekka Pohjola - bass & keyboards
Mike Oldfield - guitars
Pierre Moerlen - drums
--------------------------------
Pekka supported Mike with playing bass on his first tour in 1979.

Pekka (+ 27th November 2008) and Pierre (+ 3rd May 2005) sadly passed away much to early.

  • Thanks a ninehundredandseven times for uploading this! I had the album (found it as "the consequences of indecisions"), but it burnt with a lot of others. How wonderful to be able to listen to this masterpiece again. And sad that UMG doesn't allow Germans to listen to most of your uploads :-((. Somewhat pathetic, as if they'd sell more records that way...I'll have to buy Pekka Pohjola's work again somewhere. You really made my day^^!

  • Great xx

  • @Albertmerinen I agree.

  • @Albertmerinen After having found Mike Oldfield, Pekka en Pierre Moerlen, I ventured on to Japan, another great band of their time. I mostly favoured Mick Karn for his sublime bass playing, so please look him up, you might love his sound too. Still, neither Pekka nor Pierre will easily be surpassed.

  • Brilliant Guitar playing by a Brilliant Guitarist!A Great Song!Full Of Intense Feeling!

  • I think they did this music based on mathematical patterns ..lol

  • What a treat! Thanks for posting.

  • the one person that gave this masterpiece thumbs down is a faggot.

  • Two geniouses at work!!!

  • Pekka Pohjola was, to me, a real "music illuminated" like few others. Not for his tecnique, not for his compositions.. But for his natural ability to create eternal landscapes and REAL emotions.

You can study Chopin, Bach, Beethoven for an entire life and play them 10 times faster than the normal.. But to be a genius is another thing.

Personally, as a musician, i take him as one of the example of what is MUSIC. (And Mike Oldfield too)
