@Methworld lmao

I sure miss when the Oilers dominated.....

I know everything about hockey. It's been a part of my family's culture since I was a young baby. T.V.'s weren't allowed in Laos before 1990 so I listened to it on our local radio station 101.3 beng pot
-
@cacophonyize so in other words you don't know anything about hockey.
-
I'm not from Newfoundland. I'm Laotian but I was born in Myanmar (formally known as Burma). We love our hockey they're and am proud to say that we just sent our first Burmese (formally known as Myanmarian) prospect to the Winnipeg Jets. We are excited for him. His play and desire for the respect of the game reminds me of Ryane Clowe. Though I admire one Newfoundland, I must say my roots are dug deep in South-East Asia. There's something bout a culture that eats humans that I love
-
@cacophonyize haha...yeah, Ryane Clowe. That's cute. You must be a Newfie. And come on, watch the video...nerd.
-
Totally disagree, Ryane Clowe will be regarded as best ever when he retires and Gretzky got more pussy than stall #1 in the ladies room at studio 54
-
Gretz...greatest ever. Nerd though.

@1hodgkryhockey Lucky for Gretzky was having stars like Nichols, Sandstrom who was stars in LA before he arrived...Gretzky made good players great. Lemieux had a pretty strong group in Jagr, Francis, Trottier, Coffey, Stevens, Tocchet etc....and Orr had Esposito, Bucyk, Sanderson, Hodge, Cashman etc.....
Look at the point production of the Oilers players after Gretzky leaft and then compare the Kings point production when he arrived.....
I love Orr and Lemieux but fair is fair.

To me, Gretzky's most impressive stat is one that never gets talked about. In 1970-71 Bobby Orr set the record for plus-minus with a +124 in 78 games. An unreal number to be sure. But in the 1985 playoffs Wayne Gretzky was a +28 in 18 playoff games. It's one thing to set the plus minus against expansion teams, it's something else to do it against the best teams in the league at playoff time. I guarantee Orr never had a plus-minus like that in the playoffs.
Or were guys like Anderson, Messier, Coffey, Kurri, Tikkanen, Simpson, Fuhr, and Lowe the players they were because of Gretzky? Of those players, 4 of them were drafted third round or later. You do not get 2800+ points (nearly double that of the second all time points leader) because of a supporting cast. Not to mention, Gretzky broke the 100 point barrier 5 more times after he left the oilers with the Kings (because of who, Luc Robitaille?).
