  • @Anavyia Me too, the Susan Chilcott and Susan Graham version is INCREDIBLE! I also agree that it is such a shame she passed away so young, most importantly for her loved ones, but also for us, her fans. We've lost to many wonderful artists far too young!

  • @MissJessyeNorman

    Thanks for the info,

I love the version with Susan Chilcott and Graham

so gorgeous, it`s apitty she`s death (Susan) a very great soprano,

    anyway thanks

  • @Anavyia ...All that said, I don't know the singer well enough to know if this is a real problem for her, or just one thing that went wrong in a performance. In live opera there are always going to be some technical mistakes, even from singers with great technique. Otherwise, I enjoyed her singing, but you just can't tell until you hear someone live; oh, AND up close too now, because some houses are stupidly using microphones for their hot young singers, who cn't really sing!

  • @Anavyia ...It should ring like a bell, even in a pianissimi. I think that's why it comes across as too loud, when really it's just not perfectly placed, and doesn't have enough space above it, so she loses the spin. To me it just sounds a tad strident because of the lack of spin. She also seems to not be able to move the sound forward on that note, so you get a kind of static sound, rather than the movement we l should hear...

  • @Anavyia I agree with wanting traditional costuming. Having social context makes the emotional struggles of the characters clear, and therefore accessible.

I think the soprano has a lovely voice, and I don't think that she is too loud, but I do have an issue with her singing. During the more sustained pitches, like at 4:08 she loses some of the space above the note, which cause the pitch not to vibrate perfectly, and it becomes a straight tone...

  • But she has a very nice breast!

  • could you please post 'ah scostati..smanie implacabili' as a seperate file...its a shame that theres a pause. I love this prod. so much!

  • beautiful regia!!!yò cosang ppover mmano!!
