Valentine V1 Detecting Laser Scatter

Although I do believe the V1 is the best in detecting laser, this proves that even the toughest radar/laser detector has some issues in detecting laser scatter. With the Valentine One mounted high on my windshield, as recommended by Valentine Research, I encountered a motorcycle office armed with the Pro Laser III. This was on a busy morning commute, with cars ahead, and the V1 still gave me no advanced warning. Laser is just one hard measurement to detect.

Those cars were pretty far ahead of you, if they were 100-200 feet then chances would have been there.. but not that far away.

Rowan, Valentine research states that with the v3.872 software that laser scatter signals can be detected at 1320 ft which is a quarter mile. You can't tell in my video because it's hard to see, but those cars were actually about a quarter mile ahead. What added to the decreased sensitivity was the curve right before the officer.

Since it is a curve and he would already have finished targeting the cars ahead by the time you would be near the laser scatter, chances are really low. If it was instant on radar, due to the wide radar beam you would get it guarenteed

I didnt say it wasnt possible, I just stated that your chances are quite low, and yes the curve also doesnt help.
