Biography
Bucknife, a nefarious band of outlaws, whose loud and gritty sound has brought to its hometown of sleepy Kelowna, Vegas-like hangovers, noise violations, and perhaps the odd broken jaw, are conspiring to travel away from their place of residence in order to bring their particular breed of raucous partying to foreign lands. The townfolk wish to alert the world: Bucknife is a six piece rock group whose shows will invariably leave their followers (whom they refer to as villains) into nights of frenzy with strained vocal cords, and stains on their reputations.

One eye witness corroborates:

"I ended up spending all my money on Jack and Cokes and had to call in sick where I work because I lost my voice at the Bucknife show" --anonymous human.

Formed in the summer of 2008, Bucknife showcased the technical swagger that met with the tradition of a hardcore sound. The band recalibrated, emerging into 2011 with a unique sound, one that meets at the crossroads of dirty punk origins with back-country blues, layered over full percussions, and joined together with anthemic rock choruses. Incorporating organs and sometimes a banjo, Bucknife rebels against conventional ensembles; their sound can sometimes liken to a straight-ahead-rock feel (not to be confused with straight-edged-anything), but they shun over-production, preferring the raw quality of live recording displayed throughout all of "Villains" their 13 track debut album.

Opening for other misfits and social renegades such as Pennywise, Bif Naked, and SNFU to name a few, the group has spent much of 2010 and 2011 playing shows, recording Villains, and headlining the Okanagan's biggest festival, Center of Gravity. Their infectious sound infiltrated the ears of industry folk and led to Bucknife picking up nominations at the BC Independent Music Awards for "best rock recording," and "group of the year."

Take heed-- Bucknife will be stalking the asphalt that leads to your town come fall. Prepare to get loose, or get out of town.
