i was ringside for a studio match in minneapolis in 1972, when snuka was a rookie. in corner don muraco, whose physique was still something to behold. the tag team of nick bockwinkel and ray 'the crippler' stevens, managed by bobby heenan, was classic. awa knew how to develop talent but not how to keep it.

If you think Ray Stevens was good at this time, you should have seen him in the 60's. He was one of the greatest of all time. Unfortunately, he did not keep himself in shape in the later years....but he sure knew how to wrestle.

Of course this match was brought on when Albano turned on Snuka and Ray Stevens piledrove him on the cement floor. It was an unbelievable angle that only people of a certain age like us remember.

I'm 39, and I, TOO, remember the Snuka-Albano match! In my opinion, it was GREAT to see Albano "getting a taste of his own medicine!" Too bad Vince doesn't do "fans of or who prefer the 'old school' a favor," by putting out a DVD featuring ALL OF THE WWF/E's "old school" matches-PREFERABLY the 70s and early 80s!
