A parade of forgotten Ford land barges from the late 60's and 70's. Many of us fondly remember climbing into a huge Country Squire, LTD, or spacious midsize Thunderbird for the family road trip. These 2.5 ton battle wagons didnt fold up like tin foil when hit, like a new Accord or bounce you to death like a new front wheel drive "family sedan". Most are now gone, but not forgotten, we all remember the rumble of their 460 V-8 powerplants that could acually tow a travel trailer.

  • Yes, the car at 3:12 is a 71 Marquis. As for 69' LTD parts, they are all over here and there in boneyards. I see them in both Indiana, and Michigan. Good luck with yours bro.

  • awesome video...brought back fond memories of when i owned several of those cars pictured.....each one was like a family member. always had a tear in my eye when i sold one.

  • i own a 72 LTD country squire in Holland and need a rear door rubber..us guys?

  • Just remember to have mant rebuilt powersteering pumps handy if you have a V8 powered Granada or Monarch.

  • I remember these FORDS as being big, strong, quiet, comfortable cars with big smooth effortless V8s to haul them around very competently and dependably. My mom had a 67 Country Squire, wish I had it today! Great video...

  • I loved the old Fords. Great cars back in the day!

  • Incredibly cars. A '66 LTD with a 289 V-8, could get around 25 miles to a gallon of gas. The most beautiful Thunderbirds were the '67 through '71 four door Thunderbirds.

  • What a great collection. A Friend of my dad here in England owned a black 70 Galaxie LTD from new. What a great car, I just loved the looks but even more so the sound...

  • Love the old Country Squires!
