I demo and review the Cakewalk Music Creator 5 software. It's an affordable, quality application capable of providing studio-level functionality and customizeability. You can listen to the demo song I put together here: http://www.supload.com/listen?s=0tqoL9

  • can you make your own drum beats.

  • @21zband You can, but it's not easy. There's a built in MIDI editor, but you might be better off using a third party tool for ease of use.

  • A cool review, thanks!

  • @SPARTANMST I'm glad you liked it.

  • @utahraptor2 Did you say you plugged your guitar into the computer through an amp? If so did you have your amp clean or distorted? I tryed my guitar straight into the computer and had problems with the latency... one way it way delayed about a half a second and the othe way it crackled too much what should I do? I really want to use this program THNX vid was good!

  • @gtrprince1 Yes, guitar is going to amp and my headphone out went to my microphone in on my sound card. The channel was clean. What OS are you running? According to microsoft, if Vista/Win7, try this:

    Go into control panel>sound

click on speakers and select properties

go to levels and scroll down to line in. Make sure that it's unmuted and has the volume turned up.

Now click okay, go to the recording tab, and select line in's properties

go to the listen tab, and uncheck "listen to this device"

  • i just got this today and im just wondering if you know how to start like actually doing stuff because i got a keyboard with it and it wont let me record

  • do you have any extension packs? If you do can you play a short sample of the sounds? Im not sure if I want to buy them if I haven't heard them yet.

  • Ahhh!! What awful wallpaper!! lol

  • yeah none of this stuff came with it...i hate cakewalk in its over complications

  • can you compress vocals from cakewalk ?

  • y when i hit the drum icon like u it brings me to anotha screen like the synth screen i think it is? how do i get already made drum lines? i got music creator LE, is it diff?

  • HELP ! I WOULD LIKE THE RYTHM TO BE 3/4 ! What should I do ?

  • How would you say this is for Podcasting?? I want to have up to 4 microphone users per recording. Cubase is way over my head but I like this program's layout.

  • I used Music Creator 5 for 3 months now and its wearing off. It isn´t professional enough in my opinion. I managed to compose 2 songs with it which sound more or less professional to be heard on the radio for example, but otherwise this is a software that you can´t work with if you are a music producer. Its overall too cheap. I am getting Sonar X1 Producer edition the next 2 months and hope that it has more variety.

  • are there any orchestral instruments in it? or expansion packs? i want to make a score for a game and i dont know if i will be satisfied with it..
