Philly Strawberry Delight Appetizer Recipe by the Cream Cheese Party Queen

Now you might be thinking... wait a minute.. this looks like a dessert. But believe me, this dish makes for a great surprise appetizer for guests. It's light, fresh and perfect for a spring of summer afternoon party, a bridal shower, Easter lunch or maybe even New Years Eve. Pair it with your favourite Canadian sparkling wine and you're guests will be purely delighted.

1 pint(s) of Fresh Strawberries
1 250g package of PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese
1 cup(s) of Vanilla Yogurt
1/2 cup(s) of Packed Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp. of Pure Vanilla Extract
1 Handful of Sliced Almonds
1 Square of Dark Chocolate

Steps:

Wash all strawberries and set aside
Mix softened PHILADELPHIA CREAM CHEESE, brown sugar, vanilla yogurt and salt in a large mixing bowl until smooth
Add vanilla extract, mix gently and set aside
One strawberry at a time, cut off the greens and stand strawberry upright on a plate
Cut the strawberry crosswise (cutting only ¾ of the way down). Be careful not cut the whole way through the strawberry
Place finger into the middle of the cross-cut (in the middle of the X formation) and gently open
Place a dollop of the PHILADELPHIA CREAM CHEESE mixture into the strawberry
Place strawberry on plate
Sprinkle almonds in centre of strawberry
Continue this process for remaining strawberries
Once you have all your strawberries filled with the PHILADELPHIA CREAM CHEESE mixture and plated, garnish with shaved chocolate (use a grated to grate chocolate)
