Debate is fun: SpAr time!

SpAr info:
SpAr stands for Spontaneous Argumentation, this style of debate was invented by Stanford debate team in hopes of creating a mix between debate and speech events. Speakers are ranked, in tournaments it is considered an ie, as you may guess there's not much prep involved.
Topics tend to be fairly simple value or current event topics, and sometimes metaphors or quotes.
Each speaker is allotted 2 minutes of preparation time, then the speeches begin as follows:
2 minutes- Aff
2 minutes- Negg
3 minutes- unstructured argumentation (crossfire)
1 minute- Negg
1 minute- Aff

I LOVE spar, but it isn't offered in my legue, so I can only do it when our team competes at the Stanford invitational.

how do you guys get money from debating? I debate too, and i don't get any money from doing it...

@kenijoluver no new information in the closing arguments, but new analysis can be brought up, essentially it's parli with super short times, which alters the style quite a bit.
