Grandmaster Flash shares his take on the state of DJ science at the Native Instruments booth at the 2008 Winter NAMM Show.

Flash was fighting some flaky gear that NI hadn't troubleshooted very well, but it was great to see him in action.

Watch out for his reflections on his "dj science".

  • I've seen Flash live at the Jazz cafe Camden 6 yrs ago using real vinyl and I can say that he would kick the ass of 95% of modern djs in terms of accuracy. Of course he doesn't have the bells and whistles of what kids are doing today but without him none of it would exist so lets remember that. He is able to entertain the crowd and pack a jam after all these years and that is a very important aspect of DJ'ing.

  • Legit...so simple...so basic...so real...

  • He is like the Robert Johnson of DJ ing. The mans got tons of Soul Power, and I've seen some guys today that have all the bells and whistles but no soul. He is the guy that first did it man

  • hes getting old not anymore the greatest

  • @youcantfoolme99 I'll quote @maccagrabme and say the same to you. "You are a failed comedian." And then I'll add, you are a true idiot.

  • Names of the tracks any1?

  • Grandmaster Flash looks like a kid when he is cutting, so happy,so energized. His movements look so youthful.

  • Seems pretty responsive software (ie. low latency). I'm presuming this is NI's Traktor Scratch?
