On November 20, 2009, the JOSEPH CONRAD was moved to the Henry B. DuPont Preservation Shipyard and hauled on the Museum's shiplift for routine maintenance and repair. She will be out of the water for several weeks so come and check her out in person.
This rousing version is narrated by Alan Villiers, a past owner of the JOSEPH CONRAD.
Many thanks go to the Villiers family for their permission to use Mr. Villiers' voice over from his 1935 film "Cruise of the Conrad"
I sailed with Alan Villiers in 1965. It was the greatest voyage of my life, and he was a marvelous captain.

Thanks for posting! my uncle was 'Hardcase' Jim Fuller from Ipswich, sailed away a boy of I think 13 and came back a man! Told me many tales, such as when they thought they had run aground, but it was a whale rubbing it's back on the hull at night!!!

My dad crewed on this in the early 1940's....6 months aboard doing all mate duties. Havana, Jamaica...sailed out of Florida as a Merchant Marine training ship. He thought the crowsnest during storms was a blast.
