  • aftertouch is a midi message sent after the key is initially pressed to the sound generator. it's just a message, so you can assign Any effect to it, not only vibrato, even though it's the more usual effect assigned to the aftertouch message, you could assign a pitch bend, volume, tremolo (varies wave amplitude) vibrato (varies wave frequency), or filter ( on some keyboards )
