  • Robinson is a genius no doubt. The Robinson line is being used more and more in place of Bells and other especially in TV news.

One question. The universal aesthetics comment on Robinson is the "turkey neck" main rotor support and agreeably one of the ugliest birds flying. My guess is there is an engineering reason for this but I know not why.

  • Definitely. I thought that the "turkey neck" was pretty horrible on the R44, but its starting to grow on me. . . hahaha

  • Самый красивый вертолёт!!!! Молодец, старина Робинсон! Вот, разбогатею...

  • Dunno why air vehicle're always that expensive, what being in the air is what a cut above?Though some may consider certain Acrafts reasonably priced by certain standards, fair enuf,on observation, many kit type like aircraft prices, even in the low-end private Acraft segment in fact really is as much or higher than a high-end Merce, but the tech that went into them be they mechanical/electronical,they can be said to be hardly comparable to the German,Italian/British marques for refined craftsmanship.

  • i agree amazing guy that robinson !!!

  • I flew the R-22 in England and it is a splendid, forgiving machine.

  • The R44 and R22 are not the most attractive looking helicopters I have ever see. But sales of these helicopters is really matters.

  • The turkey neck design is there both for tail rotor clearance and secondly, most importantly is that if not for the large mast the ground clearance would be reduced to about 4-5 feet
