  • He's doing it pretty badly. The point of pouring powder on the top is to ignite it from the top, and he should be wearing a glove, otherwise he's asking for a serious burn. Probably set the grass on fire too

  • YEs per SAFETY STD. but it's not a big deal. It's more easier to do that w/o glove. we did 20 points but there's no record of what meant for.

  • The power in the cadweld also can be used as a method to cut steel,it is a little different because it contains sulfer, and it will cut thick metal very fast, say 4 inches thick x 2 feet long, tool grade steel in 5 to 8 seconds.

  • no! WELDING-MEANS BONDING MAT. BY MELTING ETC.. HEAT POWER SUCH AS LAZER, ASETELYN IS YOU'RE TALKIN' ABOUT, RIGHT?

  • What does the completed connection look like?

  • Ohh.. it shapes-up the applied molding. This was look "T" . They bonded the copper rod and the groundwire for lightning arrester sys.

  • O contribuinte não esta usando nenhum tipi de EPI, isso sai completamente das regras de um bom trabalho.

  • @OSUWeldingEngineer Exactly CADWELD is the only way to go! These folks need to loose the "sheetmetal gun". They suck! We used the magnesium fire strikers sold at camp/outdoor stores. A little dust on the start port and a spark thrown from the striker and your done! No burns!

  • yeah. thats not CADWELD. it looks more like Thermoweld. i used alot of that in Mississippi.

  • I don't think this is actually CADWELD. I think this is a knock off. ERICO's CADWELD has a place on the top of lid to put the starting material, so you don't expose yourself to the heat from the reaction. Also, the clamp that ERICO supplies is much quicker to setup and take apart because it has handles instead of the buckles as in the video. I would say, try the real CADWELD and dont mess around with this stuff.

  • I use the electronic one thank god. I would hate to use that gun thing. I did about 5 of these today at work. God I dont wanna work tomorrow!!! lol

  • been burned too many times by those cadweld molds... I'll fool around with the gloves

  • Electrical supply houses carry them, or can order them

  • Bobby, there is a place in San Diego, across the street from where I work, that has this stuff. If I learn anything I will put it up. (NOTE I DO NOT WORK FOR THEM!)
