Imagine that ...during the gas-spitting-struggle, and consequent argument at gunpoint BEFORE the gunshot from Alda, what if it would have been revealed via flashback that Dyson, or one of his clones, quickly, secretly, attached / embedded a prickly QED clip onto the friendship bracelet Charlie had made---as insurance that Benford MUST LIVE / stay conscious!

if this is the case, then even when the GBO happens, Mark Benford would still be awake---stunned, wondering HOW he was awake, but then during a flashback thinking session, he would use chess-logic and 5 seconds later say...

"OF COURSE...'Dyson Frost' must have put the QED on my...
oh Charlie..THANK YOU!...oh man, I have no time to waste!!!"
