@nai9070 so replacing the digitizer fixed your phone?

I am still trying tofigure out after a week and a half what could have gone wrong. I have travelled to a more humid climate is it possible this is the cause? I have tried just about everything.

they say that replacing a new digitizer will work. so i ordered one in ebay. I have the same problem... but this thing happened after a year of using the milestone

ghost touchscreen is reported world wide so it has nothin to do with the batch
some said bcos of design flaw, the carbon ribbon for touchscreen is damaged.
other said bcos u use alternative charger / current leak
some suggest due to water/ moisture present in the screen
either way, i havent found any solution YET

Hey man, I have the same problem as you. I am so disappointed as I've had phone for a week. It happened when I tried to install a screen cover. This are installed with a bit of soap and water. I left the phone off for a while then when I turn it on it was damaged. It worked perfect before this so either: 1) water might have caused this, 2) I might have placed too much pressure on the screen. I just bought on eBay a touch screen digitizer to try to fix this problem. We'll see later on.

hey man. I had exactly the same problem. It will be replaced in service. It is a touchscreen problem. so you can not fix it by reinstalling the OS.
