On March 31, 2007 the CU Ranger walked in Relay For Life at Cornell University. The Cornell Ranger, designed and built by the Biorobotics and Locomotion Lab at Cornell, beat the world record for farthest walk by an autonomous biped robot on December 3, 2006.

The CU Ranger raised $755 for The American Cancer Society by walking in the relay. It walked in honor of a designer of the robot who is currently recovering from chemo therapy.

The walk contributed to a goal of the lab which includes contributing to advances in medical rehab of the disabled and prosthetic research and development.
