A chapter from one of my favorite books by one of my favorite authors (also loved by Murray Rothbard.) G.K. Chesterton was a turn of the century and early 20th century controversialist, self declared "pagan" and eventual convert to Catholicism. He lived from 1874-1936. Although I disagree with his economics views (he was a distributist), he is still one of my all-time favorite writers.

This is pretty long (36 minutes) but you don't get the full effect by watching just one.

Also, you should subscribe to my friend Stargazer5781, who is a great guy, even though he thinks spanking is child abuse: http://www.youtube.com/user/Stargazer5781

  • Joe, we have a great deal more in common besides first names.

This is by far my favorite chapter of Orthodoxy. You read this chapter and you just have to laugh, its down right hilarious. "Do not go on a demagogue pleading triangles to cease their threeness". Absolutely brilliant. This chapter in my book three or four times as yellow as the other chapters.

  • @Theologica37 Mine too! I also love the Ethics of Elfland.

  • I stink therefore I came. Thanks for your reading of this most interesting chapter! Good to see another side of Chesterton besides Father Brown, who always bores me stiff; this, on the other hand, is enthralling stuff!
