fuck all this noise about technology vs no technology.. just get me that synth solo and ill be happy

Being able to use new technology with the old is a good thing! Being able to manipulate the music is what its all about so why not add advantages. I havnt tried any of this shit but why not? Sounds like a good idea to be able to convert my 6,000 lbs of vinyl into a mac. Digging through thrift shops, yard sales, flee markets, antique shops, record stores ect. and finding something unique is what its all about but expanding that to being able to download newer shit only makes things better.

@StealthLikeTiger my thoughts exactly. I have a love hate relationship with scratching. I suck at it, so I hate it. But love when it's used right - SPARINGLY! I get if it's a DMC battle or whatever, but in the club it's goddamned annoying.

@edyken77 good advice bro i agree with u im tired of all the new guys hopping on a macbook pro and saying theyre a dj their first week

@bigge525 ok i will get my eyes checked because i didn't read what your comment correctly?? still trying to work out what your going on about as for my teeth they are perfect and my breath smells very nice . what does brushing my teeth have anything to do with reading your comment correctly? laughing and beat matching some great vinyl and contemplating which gig to accept this weekend ....get a life WANKER with a little dick that you can't see properly because your fat gut is in the way

@tellygoodnow Obviously you need glasses, because I said that I consider anyone a dj who at least can match up 2 tracks on tempo without electronic assistance (synch button, ect) with CDJ's, turntables. So brush your teeth sometime limey and get some glasses so you can correctly read what I say. :)

Gotta admire the skill of scratching but fuck i hate it when i hear a lot of it. I hate the sound. All i wanna do at a club is get drunk and listen to the music that has sweet mixes and effects. jmo.

@djtimwright i agree man , why is it that all these guys out there are haters of the new technology isn't being a DJ all about entertaining a crowd in a club or a pub or party? If a DJ drops a track and it sounds great and its in time who cares how he/she dropped that track?
-
@bigge525 thats bullshit if you can pick the correct tracks and can read a crowd it doesn't matter what equipment your using. So many wankers think its all about beat matching, beat matching is only part of being a DJ.
And yes i beat match on good ole vinyl with my beloved technics 1200's but i love trying out new equipment and basically i've seen some cool stuff being displayed by people that have never touched turntables .
Unfortunately people like you have created some kind of rule book??

@edyken77 true, but maybe Dj'ing is moving in another direction with a new generation. It isn't neccessarily a bad thing. A few years ago i was thinking "shit hip hop is dead!" there is no new producers. But now there is a plethora of new kids making beats. Out of the hundreds of thousands we already have kick arse producers ie Mike Kalumbo, Dope Boyz, just two i know. Sure DJing has hit a low point, but it may pick up, no doubt it will.
@lawettersanchez Do not listen to those who tell you to start with virtual DJ. Do you want to be just another laptop DJ with no ability or do you want to learn how to match beats and have actual skill? Mr. Miyagi did not teach Daniel Son the Crane Kick first. He had to learn several other things before that. Do NOT start with virtual DJ. Get some old decks or cdjs and a mixer and learn how to beatmatch. Pay respect to the history of djing and learn the right way.
