Kutuka Motorsport test the new Toyo R1R tyre at Cadwell Park 15/3/10. Roadgoing class XJS, class record a 1.48.8, but for inexplicable reasons the 2010 regulations have added 70kg to the class, and this car now weighs in at a massive 1580kg! T1R v R1R back to back test. Trackday rules apply so we're a little way off full committment, and for the R1R test it's the car and driver's first time on anything other than the old T1R, so pressures and setup are hardly perfect, and we've no clue how to even drive this car with proper grip. 2 laps, one on the T1R, one on the R1R.

  • @HughS47 Yes, they are road legal. Great in the wet, until you get to heavy standing water. That's our experience anyway. Mind you, even the 888 is road legal you know!

  • This video was great - thanks for posting. I'm looking to change from Yoko A038's on my 1972 lotus 7 for HSCC 70's roadsports. Are the R1R roadlegal? In a car weighing 584kg they could be just the ticket!
