It is amazing what can be found out on You-Tube. I well remember this episode of SOAP with Inga Swensen playing Ingrid, a somewhat crazed Swedish lady claiming Corrine as her long lost daughter. I had no idea that she was a very fine singer. I have just listened to her duetting with the late Robert Goulet singing "Rose Marie". Excellent!. Katherine Helmond imitating her accent & finishing with "HUH!" was brilliant.

Yes this is a great moment in the show, I will include more of this scene later, because Corinne starts to leave but Ingrid talks her out of it, tells her that Jessica was just saying all that to "save her own neck" - you can hear the audience "boo" and "ooh" from that.

I never heard Inga Swenson sing, but my grandmother told me she sang on Benson once, and was a great singer too.

Yeah Ingrid had it coming although I thought she was a hilarious character, Ingrid Svenson.

@Yesimustbestupid2 , that is precisely the scene I've been looking for. I told my 10-year-old niece about it, and we've both had a good laugh about it. It's one of the best scenes in the show's run. I remember staying up very late to watch this show in the late 70's , when some TV stations would not air it during prime time hours.

All 4 series are available for download at Mininova. I used to watch this as a kid - couldn't recall much but remembered it being so funny. I gave a brief synopsis to my son. "No, I don't fancy watching that it sounds crap" We sit down to watch it nearly every evening! One of the best comedies ever written. Susan Harris is a genius writer. Superb cast, brilliant acting, perfect delivery, spot on comic timing. Sophisticated, ironic, pertinent script writing. Let's start the Soap resurgence.

My favorite scene in this storyline was when Ingrid came to the Tates' house shortly before Jessica's verdict came in and Corinne had moved back in and Ingrid says to Chester and Jessica something to the effect, "Do you think I'm finish?" and Jessica says, "No, you're Swedish." That scene needs to be reposted here on youtube. it's a classic of deadpan (out of Jessica) humor.

do you have the scene when benson stopped jessica from leaving before her trial and mary talked to jessica that was the best scene if you have that one please post it thanks
