England have some interesting selection posers ahead of the first Test - not least whether to play Monty Panesar in tandem with Graeme Swann.

Swann, as you would expect, is all for the idea, but it remains to be seen whether either conditions or a brave change in policy from England's management will usher the idea in.

  • Strauss, Cook, Trott, KP, Bell, Morgan, Prior, Broad, Swann, Anderson, Panesar. Thats my team.... hard to get a good balance with Bresnan gone home!

  • @andybkr you're forgetting that swann can bat, im surprised that Monty knows which way his helmet goes on personally

  • Swanny wants two spinners so he's got a chance of making the side! Monty as first choice after his recent performances!

  • I would go with the two spinners, and possibly Onines

  • Pakistan's been very successful with two spinners (Ajmal & Rehman) in UAE, So it might not be bad to try with monty, and also Pakistani batsmen had some problems with left arm spinners in the past as well. So for me, go with the spin duo.
