Australian Prime Minister, Julia Gillard welcomes the Queen at a Parliament
reception in the capital Canberra, describing her as a "vital
constitutional part, not a guest."
The Queen followed by paying tribute to the Australian armed forces in her
only public speech during the 10-day visit.
@mak34237 worship a queen and let her rotten family suck public's blood is the biggest laughing stock in 21 century. your old british empire has gone long time ago, but the real sad thing is some pp likel you refuse to face the reality and still live in their own prince and princess fantasy.

@0s0e0a0n0100 but above all we don't pay taxes to the queen, only to the governor general and all the politicans in both federal and state governments.

@0s0e0a0n0100 well only when she's in australia but she doesnt take that much. in any case as I've said earlier it's mainly the british taxpayers that pays for her and again she doesn't take much away from them either.

@Australiano75 australia is already independent mate, we have been for 110 years (federation 1901). we are a constitutional monarchy which means the government governs us but the reigning monarch doesn't. it keeps politicians in check and it also keeps the monarch in check. It is a check and balance system...and a soundly one too.
