Al Jazeera English broadcasts live from inside Libya

Hoda Abdel Hamid reports from the city of Tobruk, around 140km west of the border with Egypt.

Egyptians on the road fleeing Libya told her that there had been fighting in towns along the way, and the situation remains chaotic. One man told her there had been a "bloodbath". Mercenaries, some French-speaking and allegedly from Chad, roam during the night.

Police have fled or are in hiding, citizens told Hamid, and they control the east up to the city of Benghazi.

I support the recent uprising in Libya, Egypt and Tunisia IF the new replacing governments/leaders are honorable and INDEPENDENT minded and free from the control of the corrupt war criminal United States. The flight to Belgrade was from a SECURED airport so those folks wouldent know what was going on in Tobruk, Benghazi, or even a mile away from the airport. Later on the guards shot at Arab foreign nationals and took bribes and hasseled them. A taxi ride to the airport in Tripoli is now $200 US dollars and usually $20.
