With Field Day. June 26-27, 2010 getting close. This is a glimpse from the past.
::: EDIT :::: http://www.oklahomahistory.net/hamgang.html
The video came from George Pretty of Fort Mill, South Caroline, recorded in 1952 of some local Ham radio operators conducting their "field day" in Ardmore back in 1952.

  • I miss my Heathkit DX-40, Heathkit VFO, Vibroplex "bug," and Halicrafters SX-110 receiver. Haven't done ham radio since 1961.

  • Nice video. My dad was a ham in the 30's through the early 60's and I remember his old arc-5 transmitters and Hallicrafters receiver that he bought the day I was born in 1951. My dad let his license laps in 1962 W0ONV and I got interested in radio two years later. I still have the old S-40A and still use it once in a while. Most of my stuff uses tubes...I guess I am just nostalgic. Thanks for posting this. 73. KF0XO

  • I love this Film, I grew up in that area. I remember hearing these name when i was a kid. I wish I could have been there. I guess will just make our own Field Day Film Next year in a cool place for the record books.
