The video montage is the same as season 1, but the music is slightly different. It sounds like the exact same arrangement as season 1 but just a different session. I prefer the sound of the first season. Theme by Dave Grusin.

  • I want that episode, as I have vivid memories of this show when I was very young...

  • @Billo912 three other episodes feature alternate Leads:

    Season One:

'Pineapple Rose' starred Cliff Potter as 'Andy Hill' - Glenn Howard's assistant

    Season Two:

'Goodbye Harry' Guests Darren McGavin as freelance newsman 'Sam Hardy'

'Man of The People Guests Vera Miles as Howard's female reporter 'Hilary Vanderman'

Gene Barry cameos as 'Glenn Howard' in each which are put in his segment

  • @Billo912 The opening graphic originally 'Rotated' putting up whoe was 'featured lead' first only later did Encore in the USA wrongly put a 'Robert Stack' episode opening graphic on ALL the episodes

    original order

Tony Franciosa segments: TF - GB - RS

Gene Barry Segments : either GB - TF -RS or GB -RS - TF

Robert Stack segments: RS - GB - TF

this was the normal rotation - it differed a few times re second and third in TF & RS episodes but whoever featured was put up first

  • @Billo912 In season 3 Robert Culp (twice), Peter Falk & Robert Wagner subbed for Tony Franciosa after he left the show

Robert Culp starred as Reporter 'Paul Tyler' in 'Cynthia is Alive And Living in Avalon' - re a missing girl (did you mean this episode ?)

  • @RLewisNA nonsense - GB makes a cameo appearance in 4 episodes of Tony Franciosa's in season one and 4 episodes of Robert Stack's

TF: 'Fear of High Places', 'Collector's Edition', 'Shine on Jesse Gil' & 'Imcomparable Connie walker'

RS: 'Nightmare', 'Ordeal', 'The Bobby Currier Story' & 'High on A Rainbow'

Tony Franciosa cameos in one Gene Barry episode 'The Taker' in season one

what episode do you claim none of the leads were in ...?

  • Assigned to locate a missing girl story. None of the three primary stars were in it. Strange in that none were featured. There was only one crossover episode, where Gene Barry had an appearance in a Tony Franciosa episode--1st season. Barry never had any more appearances in Franciosa's stories, nor did he appear in any Robert Stack episodes.

  • Incidentally, there was only one episode with Tony Franciosa's title card shown first. Susan Saint James and Ben Murphy were assigned to locat

  • After Tony Franciosa left Game in the 3rd season, Darren McGavin, Robert Culp, Peter Falk and Robert Wagner stepped in to cover the 4 episodes TF was slated to do. Each of whom were correspondents for "People Magazine" A Howard Publication.

  • Dave Grusin was the composer of Game's theme for each season. The arrangement was not the same for each season. Listen carefully and its not the same. Season one had a sharper and jazzier sound. Season 2 was more layered sound. Season 3 was more jazzy for sure with a nice flavored snare.

  • Is there anyone out there, know when The Name of The Game will be put on DVD? Game was a template for so many shows. Influential in real life things. "People Magazine". Rotational shows like NBC Sunday Mystery Movies. It was Game that established the format for McMillan and Wife and Columbo. It was certainly and expensive series. Three shooting crews for each star.
