Il Mare (Hangul: 시월애; RR: Siworae) is a 2000 South Korean film, starring Jun Ji-hyun and Lee Jung-jae. The title, Il Mare, means 'The Sea' in Italian, and is the name of the seaside house which is the setting of the story. The Korean title, siworae is the Korean pronunciation of Chinese characters "時越愛," which means "time-transcending love." The two protagonists both live there two years apart in time, but are able to communicate through a mysterious post box.

  • He didn't die in her time line as her time line doesn't exist any more.

  • He die in her time line but lived in his time line:)

  • and no kissing scene... proud of jeon ji hyun!!! she didn't need kissing scene to make the Movie interesting.. ah~ Jung Yunho, I know why you can't stop saying that she is your ideal woman..... she just perfect.. ^_^

  • Its a great movie!!! I though is a sad movie.. love it...

This move is easy to understand... at last, becoz the girl have change the past (which she succeed to prevent the guy from die) so she have change the future as well.. in the end.. the guy meet the girl before the girl leave il mare so its before they started communicates through the magic mail box..

  • so the ending is the guy's timeline, isn't it?

  • @nadsQueen10

Just because the the girl has changed the past and then changed the future as well.

Chain reaction! It is not too difficult to understand.

  • @helmetstr

No, their acts influence each other. Do you remember the wine that he left in the bar that she drink in the future?

The guy's act can change future, and vice versa.

Her world has just greatly changed at the moment when he received her final letter. Thus, she didn't lose the guy in her timeline, but she may lost the memory of his dead cos it does not exist any more. That's why he needed to tell her a story.

It is a happy ending story. Not a sad story.

  • This reminds of Time Traveller: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. It's a japanese movie :)
