The third and final Chipmunks Christmas upload (for this year, anyway!) is the 1958 release called "The Chipmunk Song". Written by Ross Bagdasarian Sr. (also known as David Seville) and perfomed by our three Chipmunk friends (although some people, unbelievably, have said that it is David Seville's voice recorded at a different speed - we know that's not true though).
This song was hugely successful upon release and has been re-recorded several times since. This is a UK pressing on the London "American Recordings" label.
It is played here on the Regentone Handy-gram player from the mid 1950s. It's a very basic unit with a cardboard case, although the solidly made BSR UA6 auto changer makes it rather heavy to carry!
