Brian Krueger, President of CollegeGrad.com, presents "Your Resume Summary Section." Does your resume have a summary section? This video show you why you need one and what it should contain.
@classiciconoclast - the honest answer is that it dilutes the impact of our resume. Most that are reviewing your resume are looking for depth in a particular area, not breadth in many different areas. That said, you can use your breadth to your advantage by targeting specific aspects in multiple versions of your resume, each designed to bring out the area that is most relevant to the position to which you are applying. But you need to have that initial focus, don't leave it open/broad.
Any suggestions for an applicant with an extremely diverse background? I'm an internationally published author, award-winning filmmaker, and General Manager of a coffee shop, with a background in health and human services, and a recently-obtained interdisciplinary degree in Psychology, Sociology, and Rehabilitation, looking to move into a more stable and consistently lucrative position. Generally speaking, is my diversity a strength I should stress, or does it dilute the impact of my resume?

Objective, then summary, then education (if you have a degree), then work experience.
