@ACHi11iES Well, you must not read the news... here in my country, one man got killed by a single punch to the head. Another one died after one punch to his throat. And still more, there was this guy who received a very strong strike, probably a kick, to his chest. The broken bones crushed his heart. I don't know if the ones who killed those people were trained fighters, but the point is, that people can actually die from a single strike. Thi is no theory, is reality, and you can't change it.

The techniques are preformed clinically I see no violence in this video. It is a far cry from the actual reality of training in the JKA instructors session. Usually Junior Dan grades end the session by mopping the sweat and blood from the DOJO floor. Many of the critics show an ignorance of Shotokan. There is a complete difference between BASIC training and Kumite. The training from lower stances is to develop speed and power in movement. All else is to ingrain correct technique in combat.

I have never studied Shotokan, I have a background in Wing Chun & Tai-Chi for the most part, but I advise anyone who says that Shotokan is useless to go against a Shotokan practitioner before opening their mouth, I have sparred against Shotokan and Okinawan karate praactitioners in my young days and it was all I could do to hold them off, all martail arts are good if taught and imparted correctly
