I only caught the end of it by the time I could get the camera out. Never heard this mode before, I suspect it was a file transfer?

UPDATE: I've been informed that this is an SSTV mode using the "Easypal" ham software. Mystery solved! Thanks, QRZ forums.

  • I know guys, I figured it out about 2 hours after I posted this video last year...haha.

  • This is a waterfall picture signal.

View the signal in the "Spectran" software,

    appears the following message:

     W4LES Carolina South

  • @waveterror that's pretty nifty, thanks!

  • It says : "Carolina South, Y4LES..." :D

  • Sounds like Digital SSTV. Try EasyPal.

  • What you heard was a digital transmission from either EasyPal or WinDRM. Both are Amateur Radio programs used to send and receive digital voice or pictures.
