On the Saturday of Patriot's Day weekend in mid-April, Minute Man National Historical Park in Concord, Lincoln and Lexington, Massachusetts hosts the Battle Road event commemorating the opening day of the American Revolution that took place on April 19, 1775.

  • I suppose the are more british forces reenactors than american in this reenacting in US

  • Throughout the reenactment I don't believe I saw one soldier on either side take a hit and drop to the ground, wounded or dead...

    Why were soldiers on both sides just standing around in between rounds? Was there some article of war that precluded one side advancing on the other and simply slaughtering them?

    I do know that the British, as a rule, would march in formation no matter what. The Americans, on the other hand, had been drilled (by a Prussian officer, no less) to take cover.
