Guest: Ryan Zinn of the Organic Consumers Association // NAIS // Arkansas embraces EDL? // Saskatchewan opposes EDL! // Perfect vs. Good //

Katherine interviews Ryan Zinn of the Organic Consumers Association, urging listeners to take action to stop NAIS, the Animal Identification System. The OCA has an online form where people can submit their comments to the USDA on NAIS regulations before the March 15 deadline (see link below). Katherine discusses Arkansas legislation that would introduce "enhanced (remotely-readable RFID-spychipped) drivers licenses" into that state -- miles from a national border. Are they nuts?? Saskatchewaan apparently knows better. Canadian privacy officials oppose the so-called "enhanced drivers licenses" due to their security and privacy risks. Katherine discusses how "Perfection is the enemy of the good," urging listeners to take action, even if their actions areonly "good enough" rather than "perfect."
