  • This place needs to buy a skate sharpener. The fact these people can't skate isn't because they're from singapore. I was there a month ago and played hockey all my life but couldn't stand up. Skates had no edge whatsoever.

Tried to explain to the person running it but they seemed content to believe it was the artificial ice we couldn't handle and that skates don't need to be sharpened ever.

I can't believe someone would lay down half a million worth of artificial ice and not invest a sharpener

So it's very difficult to skate here ? I usually skate at the ice-rink at Kallang and I heard of this and wanted to try it out, but seeing your comment , I don't want to do it at MBS anymore

I never did think that the synthetic rink was a good idea. Skaters know that it's just not the same as actual ice. Wondered how long it will last before it turns into a white elephant and gets transformed into a retail space. Never tried the synthetic rink so I didn't know that they don't even sharpen their skates! Lol. They should know that synthetic surfaces wear down the blades faster than ice. Looks like I will be keeping my own skates away from their rink. Lol
