  • What a super video. I am always fascinated to see concertos accompanied on a second piano (as I sometimes have accompany concerto peformances myself). Chinese piano works from the period of this concerto are little known here in the UK (and the scores hard to get hold of)

  • Its because its a piano concerto, where the pianist (LiHwa Cheng) needs an orchestra to play with. In this case you can substitute the orchestra with another pianist (dr. Michael schmidt), who can play the orchestra part.

  • Could someone tell me why there are two pianists? I'm not very sure and am curious.

  • Great performance! Too much echo for the recording.
