One step can change a life forever in THE LEDGE, a sexy and suspenseful thriller, starring Charlie Hunnam, Liv Tyler, Patrick Wilson and Terrence Howard. After embarking on a passionate affair with his evangelical neighbor's wife (Tyler), Gavin (Sons of Anarchy's Hunnam) soon finds himself in a battle of wills that will have life or death consequences. As a nonbeliever, Gavin is lured by his lover's husband (Insidious's Wilson) to the ledge of a high rise and told he has one hour to make a choice between his life or the one he loves. Without faith in an afterlife, will he be able to make a decision? It's up to police officer Hollis (Howard) to save both their lives, but the clock is ticking in this edge-of-your-seat film that will leave you gasping until the final frame.

  • The sad fact of the matter is that there are people who believe in God that are just a little bonkers. This movie simply has a character who is one of them. There are extremists in every religion, that includes Christianity. One of the tough parts of being a Christian is to set a good example and try to combat the nutters out there that take it too far. So I don't see this movie as mocking Christianity at all as much as it just showing a possible outcome of that kind of extremism.

  • I think that the movie is more about obsessive compulsive behaviour than anything else. We have to remember that taking anything to the extreme can be dangerous and that includes religion!

  • I'm not really sure what the people talking about religion or obsessive compulsive behavior are discussing, or whether they're referring to the whole movie or the story; if we're talking about just the trailer, then I think it's just about humanity's dirt, all of us. We're talking about an unfaithful wife who doesn't have the decency or guts to just get divorced instead of cheating, a lowlife scumbag who insists on sleeping with a married woman, and a jealous husband overtaken by rage. Period.

  • when I was 16 in 1970 I told my friend that also who had faith don't tell any one I do. she did they were all shocked and started to take me a part. you have to remember there was a lot of talk show in these days. and they all had gays on and they all blame the Lords people for there pain. plus so many were lost they want to proof you were nuts for they wouldn't feel bad.

  • @mintedsalami Very true. Many people who are mentally unstable exhibit symptoms of their psychosis through extreme religous beliefs and deleriums concerning faith, God and religious practice.

This movie is not attacking those who are religious. He is just and unstable character

  • @Jeetman63 Your also forgetting the fact that according to the bible anybody can go to heaven, so if i go out and murder 12 people and spend the rest of my life in prison, during which i give my life to Christ and ask for forgiveness I can possibly spend eternity in heaven, where as a non-believer can live his whole life being a kind loving human being and spend eternity in hell for not accepting Christ. how is that at all moral?

  • yeap... don't take religious too seriously...

  • @Jeetman63 You're saying that we can't be moral and just without a God? Why not? Fear of the law is essentially the same as the fear of God - it's just in one scenario you fear the laws of some divine spirit, while in another of something that is actually tangible.

  • @aya129131 When man does not believe in God or the wrath of God, he himself becomes God. We've already seen it. The teachings of God teach us to be moral and just. When you remove God, you remove the moral teachings. If a man TRULY believes that there is nothing when he dies and there's no possibility of punishment or reward, his only fear is of the law. If you TRULY believe that you will burn in Hell if you are not moral, you will do your best to be moral and just.
