  • I am about 10-15 feet from the bird, probably zoom all the way in (12x); humming birds are tiny, size of your thumb. I am not sure of the name of the flower, but it is not a cactus, tiny flowers just form clusters. Since each flower is so small, it will not provide too much necter. I believe the bird just tries to drink from as many as possible. After drinking, they return in 15 to 30 minutes to try some more. I waited to capture this.

    Thanks.

  • Looks like she tried every one of those flowers! :-)

  • So Cute~♪

  • Nice shot. what species (common name etc)

  • The plant looks like An echium pinniana.

  • Awesome Video. I have a few questions. How close were you to the bird? Is that on zoom? Was that a cactus? Is the bird drinking from all the flowers or just can't find the one it wants? Thanks! That was really top notch.
