That was during the 2nd quarter of game 5 of the 1987 Eastern Conference Finals, the best game of an incredible series. Robert Parish's assault on Bill Laimbeer, Bird's steal to win it... That brilliant combination between DJ and Larry eventually went unnoticed, but it is absolutely magnificent. DJ was such an incredibly indispensable player...

  • great play, but that's not the first time i saw a backboard play like this. allen leavell used to do this with moses malone during their days with the houston rockets in the late 70s-early 80s.
