Is it a good idea for Christians to vote Republican? Can we trust our major Christian organizations and leaders? Is it okay to vote for the lesser of two evils? www.americanrtl.org www.prolifeprofiles.com
@slaves4christ "no need to lie" Excuse me! It was you who stated homosexuality and adultery should be illegal and have punishment associated with it. I have shown you biblically why that is un-christian.
If you won't change your opinion because you love your own opinion so much best of luck to you
@MrTmapp You have a very harsh view of God thinking he wanted everyone executed. The human race would have ended thousands of years before Jesus if they went with your ideas. But God only commanded the death penalty for people who physically committed crimes. You must think the God of OT just loved death and destruction...but I guess he got counseling in the intertestamental period and the much nicer Jesus came down.
@MrTmapp No need to lie. Everyone can read exactly what you said. Also quit representing me by saying I want to have people locked up. God never advocated anyone be locked, other than while waiting for trial.
The civil law given in the OT was for Israel's gov't, not a means of salvation or anything like that. I believe it would be good practice to follow the God-given civil law as he is wiser than any human ever.
@slaves4christ It is not a misrepresentation, I gave you God's standard. Showed you how all are guilty. You want to use God's Law to have adulterers, or homosexuals locked up or executed you have to use the fullness of God's Law, you must apply it in it's entirety and thus condemn the whole human race. You cannot have one and not the other, the full Law of God is applied.
@MrTmapp "A straw man is a component of an argument & an informal fallacy based on misrepresentation of an opponent's position." Here’s your straw man argument after I said murderers & adulterers s/b executed as the Bible says: “you'd be locking up men who so much as looked lustfully at a woman…and anyone who hated anyone for the briefest second.”
I don’t think it is a crime to lust or hate, and I don’t think you would think God wanted all OT Jews executed, as they all lusted & hated.
@MrTmapp Matthew 19:8-9 "[Jesus] said to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.”
So he DID permit divorce in cases of adultery, which is what I just said.
@slaves4christ You don't know what a strawman argument is. I will educate you.
A strawman argument is using an erroneous argument to demonstrate a point, and then refuting the argument you just created but never addressing the original point.
Well actually with respect to divorce. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder. He did not give permission to divorce, he simply stated that if you divorce your wife for anything but unchastity and remarry you are an adulterer
@slaves4christ The Old testament Law was passed down by Yahweh (God the Father) to Moses in the Pentateuch. Its intent is direct in keeping the Jewish people Holy.
Jesus Christ (God the Son) gave the true standard of God and His Holiness and showed all people how they have utterly failed.
Yes every single person listening to Christ would have realised they deserved by their law to be stoned to death.

@BoloBeachBall 1. Why the Constitution? Why put it above anyone else's ideas?
2. The constitution says nothing about murder, rape etc. So I guess it's fine for any state to make those legal.
3. On what basis should any other country make their laws?

@BoloBeachBall Then legislate on what principles? On whose principles?
I'm sorry if simple logic is too complicated for you.
