James Franco addresses banning of film I WANT YOUR LOVE

Filmmaker James Franco speaks directly to Australian Classification Board about their decision to ban the feature, I WANT YOUR LOVE, even from an adult viewing audience.

Franco recently collaborated with this film's director, Travis Mathews, on a film that explores sex as a story-telling tool in addition to censorship and personal, sexual and creative boundaries, INTERIOR. LEATHER BAR.

I don't know the circumstances in Australia, but as well supported as filmmaking is by the government there compared to here, I'm sure these film festivals are taking a large amount of funding from the government. That gives them a say. If they don't want to give them a say, all these festivals have to do is not take the government's money. Despite the petition's accusatory comments, I read no evidence of a single example of the AU standards board using different standard for gay film.

if you visit the australian classification board website and have a look at the videos they ARE releassing to the australian public you will know that james franco is right. an artist using sex to portray a message through movie directing sounds harmless and they ban his movie. and then you check the website movie release list with such titles as "milfs get banged 3", "teens like it big" and "black guys on blondes" and just laugh at their stupidity.

hm, he says "sex is a huge part of our lives, and even if it isn't a part of your life...." just to add to that, even if sex isn't a huge part of your life, the simple FACT that it isn't IS a huge part of your life. it's one of the few major driving forces behind humanity, and it's inescapable in real life. the fact that intense, visceral violence, which generally and thankfully is NOT part of normal lives is so prolific on tv, yet sex cannot be touched, is just proof that society is backwards.
