A team of experts has been able to prove that the Grand Duke of Tuscany Francesco I and his second wife Bianca Cappello ( who was a source of heated gossip) were both poisoned, probably the work of the brother and successor of Francesco, Ferdinando deMedici. The investigation, using evidence from 16th century sources, archaeological and paleo pathology, has been able to demonstrate that the two could really have been poisoned as has always been suspected. To carry out this exhaustive inquiry weve visited the places where the murder was carried out (between Florence, the Villa di Poggio at Caiano and a little church just outside Florence where the proof of the poisoning can be found).
